Aikido is a martial art that blends with the energy of an attacker. Its power derives from coordinated whole body movement, exploiting principles of physics. At Summit Aikikai, we practice the vigorous Birankai style of Aikido developed by T.K. Chiba Shihan, a direct student of O'Sensei, the developer of Aikido. Our Chief Instructor, Alex Peterson has been teaching over 15 years, studied directly under Chiba Shihan as an Instructor Trainee, was the President of Birankai North America and is a retired US Marine Corps Colonel.
