Annual Holiday Tradition Illuminates Downtown Salt Lake City |
As the holiday season unfolds, Salt Lake City's Temple Square once again becomes a beacon of festive cheer, illuminating the downtown area with its annual Christmas light display.
On Friday evening, November 28, 2025, the lights were turned on, marking the beginning of a cherished tradition that will continue nightly through January 1, 2026.
Visitors can experience the dazzling display daily from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
This year, guests will find more areas open to the public, as renovation efforts have progressed.
While the historic Salt Lake Temple remains under construction, sections such as the Main Street Plaza and the Church Office Building Plaza are now accessible, offering new vantage points to enjoy the lights.
In addition to the light displays, Temple Square hosts a variety of free activities throughout the season.
These include musical performances by local choirs and instrumental groups, international nativity displays, and the popular "Light the World" Giving Machines, which provide opportunities for charitable donations.
For those planning a visit, it's advisable to dress warmly and arrive early to fully enjoy the experience.
Parking is available in nearby lots, and public transportation options are conveniently located close to Temple Square.
As the lights continue to shine, Temple Square invites everyone to partake in the joy and peace of the season, celebrating the spirit of Christmas in the heart of Salt Lake City.
For more information on events and schedules, visitors can refer to the official Temple Square website or contact the visitor center directly. |
