Salt Lake City International Airport Climbs to 11th in U.S. Megahub Rankings |
Enhanced connectivity and operational excellence propel SLC's ascent in national standings |
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) has ascended to the 11th position among U.S. airport megahubs for 2025, marking an improvement from its 12th place ranking in 2024.
The Official Aviation Guide (OAG) defines megahubs based on the volume of scheduled connections to and from international flights, as well as the number of destinations served.
For the 2025 rankings, OAG analyzed data from July 18, 2025, identified as the busiest day for domestic capacity and flights in the U.S.
Flights considered in this analysis included those traveling from domestic to international locations, international to domestic locations, and those using the airport as a transit point between two international destinations.
Delta Air Lines continues to be a dominant presence at SLC, accounting for approximately 71% of the airport's traffic.
In 2024, SLC led the nation in on-time performance, with about 84% of departures and 85% of arrivals occurring as scheduled.
Additionally, the airport has expanded its international reach by launching its first nonstop flight to Asia, offering daily service to South Korea's Incheon International Airport near Seoul.
These developments underscore SLC's commitment to enhancing connectivity and operational excellence, solidifying its status as a key player in the U.S. aviation landscape. |
